By committing resources to a relatively small number of projects, concentrating on key themes and working in partnership with others, East African Breweries Limited aims to maximize the effectiveness of its community investment. EABL's community activities fall into the following areas, chosen to reflect where EABL's businesses have the greatest impact and where the company can make the most difference:

Water of Life
Water is life. There are many communities in East Africa that have no access to clean, safe water. This is due to reasons such as lack of rainfall and poor infrastructure. In reaction to this, EABL Foundation has teamed up with various agencies in the provision of safe, reliable and sustainable water supply. We have and continue to invest heavily in water projects that have had a positive impacts on thousands of people by: reducing the incidence of water borne diseases and by releasing time otherwise spent by women and children in search of water for alternative income generating activities.


Skills for Life
This initiative enables people and communities to fulfill their potential and improve their life prospects. EABL accorded this focus area unreserved attention by applying a significant investment in the university education of bright but needy students


Environmental conservation
We aim to achieve continuous improvement in environmental performance, concentrating our efforts on areas of greatest impact at our manufacturing, distribution points. Our environmental policy ensures that all of our facilities are challenged to keep improving their performance in these areas. We are greatly involved in tree planting activities in the region through a strongly motivated and environmentally conscious staff team.

Emergency incidences that attract national attention and which the Group deems that it would add value to the community if contributions were made to this cause.
