EABL Foundation joins hands with other partners to sponsor the Karura forest conservation programme

Present during the launch event were Nobel Laurent - Prof. Wangari Maathai, PS Lands - Dorothy Angote, Director United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) - Achim Steiner, Director Kenya Forestry Services - James Mbugua and Manager, EABL Foundation's Keith Obure among other officials.
During the occasion a new Forest Community Association - Friends of Karura Forest Association - was officially unveiled with the aim of retaining and protecting the important source.
Speaking at the event Prof. Maathai reiterated the importance of retaining forests and educating the public about its importance. She further recounted how she and other environmentally conscious members had risked their lives to defend the Forest. She expressed enthusiasm that the struggles were now coming to fruition through input of corporates such as EABL.
EABL Foundation's involvement in environmental programme is in line with Foundation's agenda of achieving continuous improvement in environmental performance.
