EABL Foundation brings double benefits to Embu residentse

EABL Foundation Managing Trustee & MD EABL Glass James Karegi with Embu DC, A.M.Maalim unveil a plaque during commisioning of the Embu Water & Sanitation facility.


The model facilities costing approximately Kes 5 million were constructed by Ecotoilet, a local NGO through the funding of EABL Foundation and are currently benefiting close to 45,000 area residents.

Speaking when he commissioned the facility, EABL Foundation Trustee & EABL Glass MD James Karegi said that the provision of water and sanitation was one of the key elements in ensuring sustainability of communities.
He further added that, ‘There is increasing need world over to refocus our energies towards ensuring communities are accessing basic commodities such as water. I am glad we at EABL Foundation are already demonstrating this commitment.’

True to Foundation’s ‘enriching lives’ slogan, EABL recognizes that water is a basic need and an important catalyst for both economic and social development of the country and seeks sustainable solutions to the problems of our people underscores. This is our commitment to the communities in which we operate.

Speaking at the same venue, Ecotact CEO, David Kuria reaffirmed their commitment to working with leading corporates in improving livelihoods of those in informal settlements. “Our aim is to provide appropriate ecological sanitation systems, in order to reduce water loss, contaminations and thus improve environmental and public health”, added Mr. Kuria.

Also present during the occasion were area DC Mr. Maalim and Her Worship the Mayor, Ms. Agatha Muthoni and area MP, Emilio Kathuri all who thanked EABL Foundation and Ecotact for bringing clean and safe water facilities closer to the people. They also urged the residents to make good use of the facilities and to maintain them well.
