The Hope Ward, a latest initiative by the IHK consists of a 25-bed charity wing aimed at catering for the underprivileged, who require high quality treatment but are unable to fund it themselves. The Hospital covered the costs of building the ward as well as purchasing the essential medical equipment.

Also present during the function was IHK’s Business Development Director, Nick Russel who explained that the ward catered for various cases among them, victims who had been traumatized from the war in Northern Uganda and who required specialist reconstructive and plastic surgery. The Ward also focuses on complex cancer treatment, as well as restoring the physical and psychological victims of burns and acid attacks among other treatment cases.

Mrs. Muyobo thanked the management of IHK for their commitment and appealed to other companies to come out in support of the institution. “We would like to appeal to more corporate companies to join hands in enhancing efforts in changing the lives of the less fortunate in society”, said Mrs. Muyobo.

The sponsorship of the bed translates to meeting the costs of 50 patients with complex care each year.
