EABL Foundation commissions Water Project in Kampala
EABL Foundation constructed yet another water project at the heart of Kampala town. The rainwater-harvesting tank is expected to benefit over 30,000 people within Kampala and its environs. Renowned international artiste, Shaggy and the Kampala Central Division Chairman, Godfrey Nyakana were among the guests who commissioned the project.

The project valued at UGX 10 Million aims to provide clean water to the health workers and patients at Kampala Dispensary and Maternity Centre. It involved provision of a 10,000-litre water tank stationed at the premises. It also involved building capacity of the health unit staff and management on operating and maintaining the water supply system. The project will enable the local community have increased access to clean water among health workers and patients particularly the women delivering from the maternity centre.


International icon, Shaggy who was on a tour of EABL sponsored projects thanked the organizers for the contribution to the society, saying water was increasingly becoming a vital commodities in households.

EABL Foundation partnered with Agency for Capacity Building (ACB) to manage and facilitate the project. ACB also conducted training for the health unit staff and management in the basics of managing harvested rain water to ensure continued clean water provision and maintenance of the facility.

 


Uganda Breweries Head of Corporate Relations, Marion Muyobo, said of the project: “We are delighted to officially commission this project for the Kampala community. Water is a key area of our community focus. Without easy access to clean water, development both physically and economically is severely effected. I am very pleased that the beneficiaries will greatly benefit from the Water of Life project’.
