EABL Foundation Benefits Health Centres in Mbooni and Thika
Two Health Centers have benefited from the EABL Foundation Health program.
Kirwara Health Center in Central Province yesterday received an ultrasound machine worth over Kshs 1 million.
The machine is expected to help especially expectant mothers who have travel 30 Kilometers to the district hospital to have the scan.
Kirwara Health Center is currently being expanded with hopes that it will serve as sub district hospital following government approval.
“We plan to build an operation theatre here and expand the center to serve more people than before. We already have a maternity wing where this ultrasound machine will be most beneficial”, said the doctor in charge
Kaliani Health Center in Mbooni also received furniture worth Kshs 300,000 to be used when the center becomes operational next month.
The center will provide health facilities to the community in the area who previously had to travel a minimum of 30km to access care.
Receiving the furniture on behalf of the clinic, patron Mrs Mulei said
“ We are at advance level with this center. We hope it will be operational from next month.”
The Health programme, funded by EABL Foundation has helped thousands of people across East Africa. EABL Foundation has in the past held several medical camps in Kenya’s Prisons. The Foundation has also funded an optical wing at the Kilimanjaro Medical Center in Moshi Tanzania and is working with the Ugandan Sickle Cell Association to disseminate information on the disease most prevalent in Uganda.
