SAVE A LIFE FUND IS RELAUNCHED

In December 2005, Save A Life Fund was reactivated to help with the current drought situation. 3.7 million shillings worth of maize, beans and rice was distributed to at least 8,000 people in Kilifi District in early December.

This was distributed in Ganze, Bamba, Kikambala and Vitengeni areas. SALF teamed up with Faith Evangelistic Ministry who helped with the distribution of the food.

On 24th December SALF donated 3.7 million shillings for the people of North Eastern Province in dire need of food. The money was received by the Minister of Special Programmes Hon. John Munyes and Kenya Red Cross secretary general Mr. Abass Gullet.

Save A Life Fund will focus on the immediate need as a longer-term sustainable solution is considered.

Background

Save A Life Fund is the brainchild of East African Breweries, Nation Media Group and Standard Chartered Bank. It was started in 2004 to help fellow Kenyans in Eastern Province who had been affected by the toxic maize poisoning and was later to expand to cover areas affected by famine across the country.

Donations
Thanks to generous giving by Kenyans both individual and corporate, numerous people in famine areas across the country have benefited from this fund. They include Kilifi, Kwale, Makueni, Garissa, Wajir and Mandera.

As Kenyans give generously, the money raised and food donated has been distributed to over 75,000 people living in famine areas.

Sending Donations
Save A Life Fund is calling on Kenyans of goodwill to continue sending donations in cash and kind.
