EABL through its subsidiary Uganda Breweries Ltd (UBL) has been very active in the area of health. We have continued to support the Sickle Cell Association of Uganda, through the provision of educational material (in English and 4 local languages), which is distributed to “sicklers” in Uganda .

The prevalence of sickle cell anemia in Uganda is the highest in the world with 25,000 babies born with the disease every year. EABL also built the Sickle Cell Association's offices at Mulago Hospital .
