1,500 inmates at the Meru G.K Prisons received medical attention at a medical camp organized by EABL Foundation in conjunction with the Independent Medico-legal unit and Meru Lions Club. The camp was aimed at boosting efforts by the Prisons Department to cater for inmates in prisons around the country. The medical camp conducted by a team of 60 doctors saw the prisoners as well as the members of community with a range of ailments receive treatment.

The Meru Medical Camp was a follow-up to a previous camp conducted by East African Breweries in conjunction with IMLU at the Nairobi West Prisons which had seen over 300 inmates and 300 members of the community received treatment for a range of ailments as well as HIV/AIDS counseling sessions.
