EABL Foundation Donates to Violence Victims

East African Breweries Limited through the EABL Foundation has committed Kshs 3 million to the Kenya Red Cross Society to buy essential supplies for persons displaced by the current violence across the country.

EABL's Director of Corporate Affairs Ken Kariuki said the money channeled through Kenya Red Cross will reach the really needy people across the Rift Valley, Western, Nyanza, and Coast Provinces.

According to Government officials, over 200 people have been killed in the post election violence in the past two days while over 70,000 families have been internally displaced.

Kenya Red Cross has appealed to well wishers to donate foodstuff, blankets and other basic needs to help those affected by the violence.

Mr Kariuki said, "It is very discomforting to see what is happening across the country. We can only appeal to our fellow Kenyans to stop the mayhem before it escalates further."

The EABL Foundation has continued to enrich the lives of East Africans through its projects of Water, Education, Environment and Special Projects.
The Foundation's recent special projects include a donation to floods survivors in Uganda last year. The Uganda floods left over 150,000 people displaced in the northern part of the country.
